The Koningskinders is a service group of the Gereformeerde Kerke Randburg and Linden.  It is a group of young people who provide in the physical and emotional needs of the learners of Claremont Primary School, a disadvantaged school in the heart of Johannesburg.

Claremont Primary School is a primary school in the heart of Johannesburg and is located in the Claremont area, between Newlands and Westbury.  Die school consists of 25 teachers and 777 learners from Grade 0 to Grade 7, between the ages of 4 and 14.  The annual school fees is only R100 per child, since most of the parents of these children are unemployed.  The families also receive one meal per day from the school’s soup kitchen.

The service group and the headmaster determine the needs of the school on an annual basis.  Last year we set up a computer room for the school and this year we will provide them with a TV, DVD player and data projector.  These items are to be used to show the children educational and Christian videos.  The high point of each year, for both the group leaders and the learners of Claremont Primary School, is the camp that usually takes place the last weekend of November.
